Thomas Hawk‘s take on the rumor of Yahoo! Photos merging into Flickr brings some calm over what Valleywag senses is a panic.

Whether Yahoo! Photos merges into Flickr – or maybe a few of the tools get shared – remains to be seen. But as some of the comments under Hawk’s posting point out – the community communities at Flickr are strong and supportive.

While the tools we use may change, those changes won’t stop or impede our ability to take photos or gather and share with friends, new and old.

In some ways, change will strengthen a community rather than split it apart.
