One of my customers is interested in a photo on Flickr for a post card job. How do we get permission to use - learn the resolution of the photo in question - learn the cost of the photo?

After having my photos "hijacked" several times without my permission, I now only post watermarked photos. Yes, it takes something away from the photo, and yes, it is a pain in the bum to have to do it , and yes, it is unfortunate to have to do it. But it is the only way to prevent photo thieves from stealing your work. They may still steal it, but at least you will get credit for it. I watermark with my web site address. And if someone wants to buy a photo, I can always email an non-watermarked photo. It is not the fault of any particular site, it is the fault of people who think it is OK to rip someone else off if they can.

@Eric: Flickr (as an "outfit") is great. There are some unscrupulous individuals who take advantage of it and/or its posters. Like any big organization, there will be bad apples. Don't condemn Flickr, condemn those who misuse it. A thief is a thief. End of story.

flickr has tons of illegal uploads on it. I have found my photos, which I never gave permission to use on this site. I am a member of an arts club and we find work stolen from us on flickr every day. So do not brag an outfit till you investigate it.
